I’m excited to announce that I have a new segment on KXAN with Studio 512 who will be following me around Austin and filming me eating at my favorite restaurants in town!
Our first stop was at La Condesa, the upscale and modern Mexican restaurant located in the 2nd Street District of downtown Austin. Here are my top picks when dining at La Condesa:
Guacamole Tasting
A selection of four seasonal salsas, and four guacamoles (traditional, chipotle purée & toasted almond, watermelon, and jumbo lump crab, apple, and coconut vinegar). Perfect appetizer to share with a group!
Hongos Y Huitlacoche
Topped with wild mushrooms, huitlacoche, yellow corn, farmer’s cheese, queso mixto, epazote, and drizzled with truffle oil. This entree is very unique and special because it features huitlacoche – corn smut (corn mold), a food delicacy in Mexico. The portion is small, which makes it perfect for a light lunch but with tons of flavor.
Jarocho
Cuvée coffee cheesecake, coconut, abinao, lime, pandan, and burnt milk ice cream. No lunch is complete without something sweet!
Stay tuned for the next segment!
