Table of Contents
THE WILD DETECTIVES
The Wild Detectives in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas is one of my favorite places to get coffee. They’re actually a bookstore that also serves coffee, beer, wine, tea, and baked goods. It has all wood decor with ambient lighting and a great backyard. Their owners are from Spain and wanted to import something different into Dallas. They even host many events such as book and poetry readings, live music, and book signings. Well worth a visit.
What To Order: Cortado, a slice of pie, and tostas.
314 W 8th St, Dallas, TX 75208, thewilddetectives.com
Houndstooth Coffee
Some of you may know of Houndstooth Coffee if you’re from Austin. Well, they’ve made their way to Dallas, and I couldn’t be happier! This place has the best vibes: there are people studying, chatting, and just hanging out. It’s a gorgeous space with a collaborative atmosphere, and you cannot find more friendly baristas anywhere!
What To Order: Japanese iced coffee
1900 N Henderson Ave, Dallas, TX 75206, houndstoothcoffee.com
Oak Lawn Coffee
Oak Lawn Coffee is a small local coffee shop in Dallas. They’re very unassuming, and I love how friendly everyone is. The space is small but comfortable – perfect for a cozy study session or catching up with friends. They also support local art, so the interior is always changing. I love their frozen latte, which is like a frappuccino but better!
What To Order: Frozen latte

Davis Street Espresso
Davis Street Espresso is so lovely. They don’t have wifi because they want people to interact, whether it’s with each other or with the baristas. It’s so different from all the coffee shops I’ve been to because I actually see people talking and paying attention to each other instead of having their headphones in or mindlessly staring at their laptop. I’ve even seen artists come here to work in a nook and just draw all day.
What To Order: Van Buren
819 W Davis St, Dallas, TX 75208, davisstreetespresso.com
Local Press + Brew
Local Press + Brew is a coffee AND cold-pressed juice bar. The interior is clean, modern, and beautiful. You’ll feel like you’re in LA! Along with many pressed juices, you can order the usual espresso drinks. They have a seating area inside, a patio outside, as well as a window for walk-up orders.
What To Order: Nut shaken latte
