PSA: New Texas Waiver Allows Austin Restaurants & Bars To Deliver Cocktails

PSA – as of March 18, 2020, Governor Greg Abbott has issued a new waiver that allows restaurants and bars to deliver alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, and mixed drinks) along with food purchases! Here’s my updated list of the best to-go cocktails in Austin.

You must be 21+ and present valid ID upon pickup or delivery, sign, and order some amount of food.  

Austin Restaurants With Cocktails To-Go & Delivery

NORTH AUSTIN

• Baby Acapulco – infamous purple margaritas are now available for to-go by ordering online or calling (512) 670-9111
• The Salt Lick – full menu is available for takeout. Bottled and canned non-alcoholic beverages are also available.
  Wine, beer, and margaritas are also available with takeout orders.

Rosedale

CENTRAL AUSTIN

• 34th Street – beer and wine
• L’Oca d’Oro – (Sunday-Thursday 5pm – 8pm & Friday-Saturday 5pm – 9pm) beer & wine and now cocktails to go! Pre-Pay & Pick Up outside for contactless takeout. Call (737) 212-1876
• Santa Rita Cantina – liquor, beer, and wine
• Vamonos – (everyday from 11am-8pm) frozen, on the rocks or a cold Mexican beer for curbside pickup and delivery is available. To place a to-go order, visit the Vamonos website or call 512.474.2029
• Olive & June – (every day from 12pm – 8pm) sparkling, red and white wines for $20 and premium wines for $25 along with beer and a full bar menu. Olive & June curbside pickup and delivery is available by ordering online.
• Torchy’s – brews and premium wines, now available to-go on pickup orders. Call your local Torchy’s to check out the selection and place your order. Margarita Kits will be available for to-go soon too – includes a 375mL bottle of Tequila, house-made sweet and sour, lime wedges and a Torchy’s shaker. Tequila options may vary by location.

• Grizzelda’s – curbside pick up for all the Tex-Mex food & Grizz Mizz, rocks margaritas, Paloma and more!! Deliveries are available to downtown Austin and 100% of delivery fees go back to the staff. Order here!
• The Brewer’s Table – offering food takeout as well as beer to-go. The menu includes multiple options as well as family-style dining – all good for groups! Call (512) 520-8199 or online order Grubhub, DoorDash, and Postmates.
• Central Machine Works – GROWLERS (64 oz.) of their signature beers, kolsch & citra pale ale available pick up at only $24 by calling 512-220-2340
• Drop Kick – beer by the can for $3, wine by the bottle for $15 to $25, as well as margaritas, a VLC cocktail, their Pimmlet cocktail with aviation, pimm’s no. 1, cucumber and mint plus a rotating drink available by placing an order online at their website, texting in at (915) 867-4090 or ordering through Favor.
• Nickel City – Nickel City has several different DIY cocktails every day like the paloma, famous frozen Irish coffee, and Bees Knees. All proceeds go to staff! Check their Instagram for the daily drink specials.

Curbside pick up available, too. • TenTen – (11:30a – 10pm) full bottles of wine, sake, and beer. Little cocktail kits coming soon – it’s basically a build-your-own TenTen signature cocktail kit! Beginning Saturday, Ten Ten’s Nova Kitchen – will be giving 100% of profits back to their out-of-work staff.
• Second Bar + Kitchen Downtown – cocktail kits, wine by the bottle, ades and iced teas by the quart, beer and other non-alcoholic beverages available by calling 512-827-2750.
• Wu Chow – now offers 6-packs of beer and bottled wine options for curbside only. Call 512.476.2469 for today’s selections to add to your order.
• CRÚ Food & Wine Bar – free delivery up to 2 blocks from the store + they’re extending a 20% discount for AMLI residents on all food orders and all bottles of wine to go are 50% off! Takeout and curbside pick-up are available DAILY from 4pm—9pm and all you have to do is call 512-472-9463 (WINE).

SOUTH CONGRESS

• Güero’s Taco Bar – (12pm – 8pm every day) food to-go as well as a margarita kit! Offerings include guacamole, queso, tamales, fajitas, tacos, etc. Two margarita kit options that include either tequila or Tito’s vodka, orange liqueur, and fresh-squeezed lime juice. A margarita kit with tequila can serve 2 ($12), 4 ($24), or 8 ($45) people. The Tito’s margarita kit serves either 2 ($12) or 4 ($24) people. Customers can order food and a margarita kit to-go by phone at 512-447-7688 between 12-8 p.m. every day of the week and pick up at the to-go window. WEST AUSTIN

• The Grove – pick up a freshly prepared meal and a bottle or case of wine – order online here
• The Salt Lick – full menu is available for takeout with the exception of fountain drinks, tea, blackberry cobbler, and ice cream. Bottled and canned non-alcoholic beverages are also available. • Ski Shores Café – Ski Shores is now delivering a little bit of that lakeside vibe directly to your home. Our neighbors have supported us since 1954, and now we want to return the favor. Each Saturday and Sunday from 12-2 pm and 5-7 pm we are providing home delivery of our full menu, beer, wine and canned cocktails to the Riverplace, Ski Shores and Greenshores neighborhoods. • The Wayback Cafe – The Wayback Cafe & Cottages has partnered with Garrison Brothers Bourbon to provide exclusive cocktail kits that may be purchased with takeout orders. The kit is $35 – includes one 375 ML bottle of Garrison Brothers’ Small Batch Texas bourbon, two limited-edition highball glasses, bitters, and a bar spoon. Simply ask for a Garrison Brothers cocktail kit when you place your to-go food order to comply with the current TABC laws. Customers can place orders by calling (512) 520-9584.

• Doc’s Bar & Grill – $1 frozen margaritas to-go
• Taco Ranch – Taco Ranch has always offered beers and sangria-based margaritas through the drive-thru
• Pluckers Wing Bar – offering select bottles of beer, White Claw and Truly via curbside pickup or delivery. They’re also working quickly to find a way to bottle their specialty drinks for sale as well.
