1. Two words: Cookie Butter
Butter, made of GROUND COOKIES. Too bad it’s limit of two per customer. Warning: One you start buying it, you will never stop.
2. Fresh herbs for $2.99
The basil comes potted! You can also pick up beautiful bouquets of flowers for only $3.99.
3. Go bananas!
Bananas are 19 cents each (which works out to about 48 cents a pound) or 5 for a $1. They encourage you the pick the biggest. Go big or go home.
4. Two Buck Chuck
I’ll be buying mine by the case. Big spenders, feel free to splurge on higher end wines. And by higher end, we’re talking $7-$8.
5. Cheap Organic Produce
You seriously cannot find organic kale or spinach at $1.99 anywhere in Austin.
6. Premade Pizza Dough
At $1.29 to make a 12″ pizza, pizza night just got a lot faster, easier and cheaper. Choose from plain, whole grain and garlic. Make it Italian night with their incredibly priced pasta at $0.99 imported from Italy.
7. For the cereal addicts.
Big boxes of cereal for $1.99 – take your pick.
8. Good things become great things when covered in chocolate.
Dark chocolate covered edamame, potato chips, pomegranate seeds, ginger and espresso beans to name a few. You can also get a pound of chocolate from Belgium.
9. Sample bar
Trader joe’s has an official sample station located in the back of the store where you can indulge in delicious treats and refreshing drinks. Supposedly you can sample any product on the shelf (no wine). Get this, they also walk around with samples. I had a sampling of 3 different cupcakes, hummus, crackers and cheese.
10. The essentials at check out.
It’s like what we ate as little kids but even better. Premium milk chocolate filled with creamy peanut butter and tart raspberry jelly. Grab a couple at the check out counter.
