IKEA bedframe | tassel throw blanket | Circle mirror
I love changing up my space especially at the beginning of the New Year to reset and refresh. This bedroom is actually one of my guest bedrooms that has been used as a storage room since I moved into the house. I can’t believe it had so much potential all this time!

Small Space
The house came with carpet and the walls were painted with this light beige color. I recently replaced the second floor with gray Scandinavian-looking vinyl that I’m in love with and will be sharing that reno in another blog post soon. Most of the walls in the house have been painted white except for the guestrooms so I did paint this room white for the makeover.
My house is pretty small so I had to get creative to make the small rooms feel big – all about that small space living!
BEDFRAME
The IKEA BJÖRKSNÄS bed frame really inspired this bedroom makeover. I fell in love with the bed frame when I saw it on the IKEA website and even more so when I went to the store to see it in person. I love the minimal Scandinavian design with real natural materials and headboard pillows with leather straps! It only took one hour to put the bed frame together too!
Other popular IKEA bedframe options include the NORDLI bed frame.
After picking the bed frame, I started to research the other elements of the bedroom. I wanted the bedroom to have a white theme with minimal pieces and then add colorful accent pieces.
I could add on MALM dresser, HEMNES dresser, or PAX wardrobe for future storage but this room does have a small closet that offers plenty of storage space. I used storage boxes from IKEA to also organize that closet.
NIGHTSTAND/BEDSIDE TABLE
I always put too much stuff on my nightstand and it becomes too cluttered so this time I wanted a smaller nightstand to keep it minimal. The IKEA SELJE nightstand was easily assembled in 10 minutes and I love the hidden cord option.
I added the NORDMÄRKE wireless charger and it’s been so easy to just put my phone on the wireless charger to charge my phone at night, especially with the lights off. No more fumbling for the phone charger!

CURTAINS
I can’t believe how much light pours in this bedroom and I was just using it for storage! The IKEA STORSLAGEN curtain rod set was so easy to mount onto the wall. I wanted the curtains to be above the windows and closer to the ceiling to make the room look bigger #interiordesignertrick. The sheer white VIVAN curtains allow in the maximum amount of light into the room while covering up the windows. The curtains were too long so I used the IKEA SY iron-on hemming tape – just iron and no sewing needed!

Lastly, I added the BÖJA Pendant lamp and ALSEDA Stool to match the natural elements of the BJÖRKSNÄS bed frame and to tie the room together! The duvet cover is also from IKEA. Only $600 for this affordable bedroom makeover!

Here’s what my master bedroom looks like with a master walk-in closet makeover using the IKEA PAX system. I actually turned the master bedroom into a faux living room so I could shoot in here. Not pictured is the floating dressing table to the left of the room and floating shelving on the right of the room.
