You guys, MY HOME IS FEATURED IN O, THE OPRAH MAGAZINE. IKEA gave me an IKEA Home Makeover last year that changed my life and helped me so much with my blogging career. I feel so grateful and blessed to have such a supportive brand grow with me. I remember I purchased my very first furniture from IKEA as a college student, and it was an investment piece.
Fast forward two years later, I purchased my first home in Austin and became a homeowner! Being a homeowner by myself wasn’t easy, and decorating my home was the least of my worries. As a blogger, my home is my workspace and not having a functional workspace meant I wasn’t achieving 100% productivity, nor did I enjoy spending time at home.

That’s when IKEA stepped in and transformed my small space of 300 square feet into a fully functional, organized, and beautiful space that I could even entertain guests with. You can see the IKEA Home Makeover here, along with the video the IKEA Home Squad produced on my home transformation.
Thank you so much to IKEA for sharing my story with the O team, and giving me the opportunity to share my story with O Magazine.
You can see the spread in this month’s issue (February 2017) of O, The Oprah Magazine.
INSIDE THE SPACE
Jane wanted to turn her passion for food, travel, and social media into a profession. But in a world where it seems like everyone is trying to make it as a professional blogger, it’s difficult to stand out among the crowd. Jane honed her voice by focusing on her local city of Austin’s food scene and weekend getaways. Her blog, A Taste of Koko, started to take off, and Jane decided to take a chance and quit her job to focus on blogging. At the same time, Jane purchased her first home, which by necessity became her new workspace. She struggled to figure out how to best utilize the space, especially downstairs, where it often felt cramped and dysfunctional. She needed a sustainable home that would allow her to entertain friends and family but could also double as an office so she could achieve her dreams while still on a tight budget. IKEA gave Jane a design makeover and created a beautiful, comfortable, and functional eco-friendly space that allowed her to work better, entertain confidently, and, most important, feel good at home— something Jane had not felt since moving in. – O, The Oprah Magazine
TRANSFORMING THE SPACE
(1) IKEA PS 2012 BAMBOO DINING TABLE serves as a gorgeous backdrop for Jane’s food photography and is adjustable in size for when she needs extra entertaining space. (2) To support Jane’s on-the-go life, the IKEA STAVE MIRROR swings open to double as storage for keys, umbrellas, and other small items. (3) Jane can enjoy a cup of coffee on the IKEA SÖDERHAMN SOFA and EKERO CHAIR, which can be moved to different configurations to give her enough seating for all occasions (now she entertains every weekend!). The yellow chair and ACCENT PILLOWS add a nice pop to the overall natural color scheme. (4) The cushion filling and LOHALS RUG are made from recycled material, a nod to Jane’s passion for sustainable living. As a final touch, GREEN PLANTS were added throughout the space to complement the natural wood flooring. – O, The Oprah Magazine
