With all the new Austin, chic restaurants popping up these days, it’s no wonder we’ve been leaving some of the cities finest dining spots to fend for themselves. But just to make sure we haven’t forgotten about them completely, here’s our list of Austin’s best restaurants that you’ve never heard of.

BEST BURGERS IN AUSTIN: MICKEY C’S
It’s safe to say you can’t go wrong with a crisp order of tender chicken nuggets, but what kind of city would we be if we didn’t support one of the best burgers in town? Upgrade for a double quarter pounder with an order of fries and a good ole fashioned Coca-Cola (duh) and you’ve got yourself one healthy and delicious, quality meal!
BEST PIZZA IN AUSTIN: TP PIES
Homeslice, who? TP Pies is clearly a front runner when it comes to organic ingredients and curbside service, and it baffles me that anyone would go elsewhere. Running weekly specials and serving up some of the hottest pizza in the 512, this spot needs to be a family favorite for sure.
BEST BRUNCH IN AUSTIN: SKIPS
Did someone say pancakes? Brunch is such “a thing” in Austin these days and some claim Kerbey Lane and Snooze are where it’s at, but my favorite spot of all time is without a doubt Skips. They put whipped cream on everything and brew only the finest coffee grounds in town. Trust me, you’ll be shocked!
BEST TACOS IN AUSTIN: EL CAMPANA
So we all know tacos are in high supply and demand in these parts, but what people don’t know, is that the crunchwrap supreme is a total game changer. Coming in hot with about 1000 mg of sodium per serving, you’re bound to bloat, but it’s well worth the risk. Ask for an extra side of nacho cheese for dipping purposes and you’ll forget all about the queso at Torchy’s.
BEST HAPPY HOUR IN AUSTIN: PEPPERS
Another local favorite of course, Peppers on 45th & Lamar kills the game when it comes to authentic, Austin food. With super fresh chips and guacamole, creamy queso, and the most decadent chocolate molten cake you’ve ever tasted, how could you not add this to your weekly, go-to musts?
** HAPPY APRIL FOOL’S! Sadly the restaurants above are actually McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, IHOP, Taco Bell, and Chili’s. I did dine at all of these restaurants for this blog post.
