Please note that A Taste of Koko is not encouraging readers to go out to dine by any means but this blog post is meant to serve as a resource for those that have requested a list of restaurants that have reopened and to help support our local restaurants that have reopened to keep their business alive and pay their staff.
Now that Austin restaurants are allowed to reopen at 50% capacity, I wanted to help support our local restaurants like Bar Peached by helping them shoot photos that they can use for marketing and help spread the word for those of you who are wanting to dine out.
Bar Peached is located on West 6th St (1315 w 6th st, Austin, TX, 78703) in the Clarksville neighborhood near downtown Austin with a large shaded patio with newly installed mister fans, tables spaced out, and the staff wore both gloves and masks throughout service. Opened by chef Eric Silverstein and the same team of the Peached Tortilla (that originally started out as a food truck in 2010), Bar Peached is also an Asian fusion comfort food restaurant.

The patio at Bar Peached is super cute and I really enjoyed having a cocktail on the socially distanced patio while trying out their menu. I like recommended Bar Peached for bachelorette parties because of the cute patio vibes. I haven’t been since they first opened in 2019 so the menu has changed. I was impressed with several of the dishes – scroll down to see which ones.

Peanut Scallion Pork Ssam**
Crispy braised pork shoulder, peanut scallion sauce, butter lettuce, pea shoots, and watermelon radish with scallion pancakes.
I loved this dish – when Bar Peached first opened the pork shoulder was thicker cut so like that they’ve switched to smaller cut that is a lot more tender and flavorful. The scallion pancakes are also really good. I had this for leftovers the next day and it was just as delicious so I would recommend this take for takeout if you’re wanting to do curbside pickup or delivery.
Chimichurri fried fish**
Panko encrusted whitefish, herb salad, peanuts, cilantro chimichurri, sriracha mayo, and lime.
The chimichurri fried fish was my favorite item on the Bar Peached menu – the fish was flaky and crispy without any oiliness or fishiness. The cilantro chimichurri and sriracha mayo added the perfect saltiness and acid. It comes with a side of tortillas in a dim sum container (cute).
Thai chili bbq steak**
Akaushi tri tip, Thai chili bbq sauce, herb salad, jasmine rice with a 14-minute egg.
If you like rice bowls, go with the Thai chili bbq steak – it’s delicious and would also be a great takeout option that microwaves well.
Bar Peached social burger
6oz all-beef patty, peached sauce, American cheese, miso caramelized onions, Japanese pickles, lettuce on an Easy Tiger sesame seed bun served with a side of nori fries.
Other popular dishes:
- Mapo bolognese
- Malaysian fried rice
- Pesto udon with dragon salt (vegan)
- Taiwanese duck roll with confit duck with hoisin
- Pork buns
Matcha parfait Korean bingsu
Peach ice cream, whipped cream, matcha powder, toasted coconut & almonds, black sesame paste, and sliced strawberries.
If you’re never had bingsu before, bingsu is Korean-style shaved ice. Not the same as an American snowcone but a much more delicate flaky ice that’s snowflake-like with a lot of different toppings. If you like birthday cake, get the birthday cake bingsu!
