UPDATE: VOX Table is closed
I’ve been searching for a new brunch spot and VOX Table was highly recommended by you guys. So I checked it out last weekend, and was pleasantly surprised! With all the new openings in Austin, I haven’t been back to VOX Table since they opened last year. I like the brunch menu much more than the dinner menu. Absolutely loved the crab Benedict, VOX burger with the steak fries (omg those fries), and olive oil pancakes all created by Executive Chef Joe Anguiano. You’re going to want to scroll all the way down this blog post for photos their stellar cocktails, and the Saturday Morning Toons (aka boozy cereal milk).
I’m working on an updated best brunches in Austin city guide so keep those suggestions coming. VOX Table’s brunch (available on Saturday & Sunday) is definitely making the list.
What To Order: Crab Benedict, VOX burger with extra steak fries, olive oil pancakes, and plenty of cocktails.
Table of Contents
Bacon + Egg
Grilled pork belly, fried duck egg, romesco, broccolini, and almond dust. Beautifully plated dish but the Crab Benedict and VOX Burger steal the show.
Salsa Verde Pork Hash
Tenderbelly’s shoulder, sweet potato, fried egg, grilled corn, baby zucchini, and roasted tomatillos. My least favorite dish that we tried. I don’t care for sweet potatoes and the pork hash was filled with sweet potatoes.
Olive Oil Pancakes
To be honest, I wasn’t too excited to order pancakes but our hostess said they were Instagram worthy. I’d say these are the best pancakes I’ve had in Austin. The edges of the pancake and nice and crispy with a warm, soft center.
VOX Burger
Akaushi beef, lettuce, tomato, VOX sauce, and house pickle. Served with steak fries or salad. We added 2 yr aged grafton cheddar, bacon, and a fried farm egg.
You know I have a weakness for fries but these seriously might be my favorite fries in Austin. I typically don’t like steak fries because they can be soggy but VOX Table’s steak fries are so crispy, seasoned, and addicting. Next time I’m ordering a plate of these.
Crab Benedict
Butter poached crab, prosciutto chip, egg 63, hollandaise, and yorkshire pudding bread. Benedict anything doesn’t impress me, mostly because I don’t care for heavy, soggy bread but VOX elevates the Crab Benedict with a popover style bread.
Beverage Director JR Mocanu has introduced an impressive cocktail line up at VOX Table, so be sure to order a couple of cocktails at brunch.
Daiquiri
Not the typical pink colored fruity drink.
Louisiana Cocktail
Saturday Morning Toons
Aka boozy cereal milk. The whisky milk punch is made with Red Handed bourbon, vanilla bitters, Demerara sugar and cereal-washed milk. Served with a tiny bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
