If you are what you eat, then I would be a French fry. If only I could profess my love for fried potatoes, whether thinly sliced, wedges, crinkle-cut, curly, topped with garlic, smothered with cheese, or dipped in housemade aioli.

My favorite fries in Austin are hands down Hopdoddy’s truffle fries with extra truffle sauce and chipotle ketchup! Along with a side of Primetime burger and caramel and sea salt milkshake.

LOVE the fries at Hank’s Austin and they’re even better during happy hour from 3 – 6:30pm every day with $5 frosé. Hank’s also has sweet potato fries.

There’s nothing angry about these fries but they’re called the angry fries at Happy Lobster Truck. Well, I guess I’ll be angry if you stole them from me. French fries, hot giardiniera, cheese sauce, angry sauce, and Maine lobster.

If you haven’t had Chi’lantro’s famous kimchi fries, you haven’t lived. Choose from ribeye beef, spicy pork, spicy chicken, soy-glazed chicken, or tofu, caramelized kimchi, cheddar + Monterey jack, onions, cilantro, sesame seeds, sriracha, and magic sauce.

The crispiest fries award goes to Sala & Betty on Airport Blvd. The fries are so crispy that they are almost translucent. You can order the fries à la carte, or you can enjoy them in the Mister T sandwich. We’ve been obsessed with Sala & Betty lately, ordering the chicken dinner and French fries via Amazon Prime (free delivery!).
