Austin is on a roll with the new healthy restaurants that are opening this year! Last weekend I visited the newly opened True Food Kitchen in the heart of downtown’s new Seaholm project — the new and unique ‘urban oasis’ under the historic Austin power plant. Incredible location right next door to Trader Joe’s!

True Food Kitchen offers a generous selection of vegan, vegetarian, naturally organic and gluten-free options that are nutritionally dense, packed with vitamins and antioxidants but surprisingly delicious! True Food Kitchen is inspired by Dr. Andrew Weil’s inflammatory diet, a blueprint for a lifestyle of optimal nutrition. Responsibly sourced proteins like grass-fed beef, sustainability raised fish and local produce from Brother’s Produce is found throughout the menu as well as a nice selection of Austin craft brews and spirits.
The 6,776 square-foot Austin restaurant features a one-of-a-kind, hand painted graffiti art mural by a HOPE – commissioned artist Samson Barboza.
