Boil water in a pot. Once boiling, add salt then the Barilla fettuccine pasta. Boil uncovered, stirring occasionally for 12 minutes. Remove from heat and drain. Set aside one cup of pasta water.
Meanwhile, go ahead and chop all the vegetables (garlic, onions, red bell peppers, and green bell peppers).
Bring another pan to medium-high heat and add olive oil. Add garlic and onions and sauté for a couple of minutes before adding red and green bell peppers.
Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until cooked through.
Add fettuccine and toss to combine with half of the parmesan cheese. Add pasta water if necessary.
